Professional Teachers Exchange Programme Summer 2024 (14-20 July)

The Professional Teachers Exchange Programme Summer 2024 held from July 14-20, 2024, provided a valuable opportunity for 50 Shaoguan teachers to engage in professional development and cultural exchange. The program was led by a dedicated team, including Dennis and Lucy, who facilitated a series of 9 informative seminars covering a range of topics related to teaching and learning. These seminars allowed the participants to share best practices, explore new strategies, and deepen their understanding of educational approaches.

In addition to the academic sessions, the program also included a robust schedule of cultural activities led by Li Kim Wing and the PTA of St. Paul’s Convent School. Highlights included visits to iconic landmarks such as Bauhinia Square and The Peak, which enabled the teachers to immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Hong Kong. The program also featured an orientation session led by Diana Tam, as well as daily briefings to ensure the smooth coordination of the event.

The feedback from the SPICE program highlights several key aspects that participants found interesting. Many attendees expressed enthusiasm for the various teaching strategies and activities, particularly collaborative story writing, interdisciplinary projects, and engaging games. The warm-up activities and interactive methods were noted as effective in increasing student participation and interest. Participants appreciated the diverse range of learning activities that could be implemented in their classrooms, emphasizing the importance of making lessons enjoyable and relevant to students.
